Frequently Asked Questions

Lincolndale Veterinary Center FAQs

Why does my pet need vaccines?

In our region there are many serious and even fatal infectious diseases your pet may be exposed to. Vaccination is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to avoid potentially serious illness later.

I'm not a regular client; can I just get my pet vaccinated?

It’s illegal for veterinarians to prescribe medicine – including vaccines – without a current relationship to the pet. We have to examine your pet to ensure that we’re giving the right vaccine in the right dose, and not potentially putting them at risk due to a pre-existing condition.

What's your payment policy?

Payment in full is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, credit cards, and local checks. We don’t offer payment plans; if you need to spread your payments out we recommend CareCredit.

Can you send my pet's vaccination record to a kennel?

Of course! If you’re a client with a current vaccination history we’d be glad to fax or email it to your kennel. Just let us know the number or email address.

I think I know what's wrong with my pet; can't you just prescribe me some medicine?

In addition to being illegal, this would be unethical and potentially harmful. There are many differentials that go into making a diagnosis and prescribing a treatment; without a hands-on examination we wouldn’t be sure we were doing what’s best for your pet.
